I have a Montalvo guitar that is also made in Paracho. I have tried many types of strings, but if you can spare the cash, I recommend the Hannabach "custom" basses and have found that they give me the best full tight bass sound without mushing out. A close second would be the La Bella basses, but I'm not sure about the top end, for that I seem to prefer a brighter sound and again I like the Hannaback carbon trebles, but they too are pricey, so maybe opt for Galli's. Galli carbons (carbonios) are maybe too bright and the titanio's are better. There are many cheaper carbon type trebles like Oasis and if your guitar is bright, the LaBella red flamenco's may work for you. As another poster said, I do not care for the D'Addarios, as they are very even, but maybe a bit lackluster. For me it's worth spending the extra money, as I will leave the strings on longer or maybe alternate with the cheaper brand, good luck!
