When i really take it seriously i start with tipping the strings only, then lift the finger and tip it again repeatedly. Next i add/retract energy to the string without actually fretting/plugging the string for real, just feeling and appreciating the energy exchange between finger and string. I also focus on relaxation, biomechanics and general control, doing 1 thing at the time at very low speeds.... finger by finger, phalange by phalange. Then i do scales and bindings for the left hand and tremolo and arpeggio for the right hand. For most techniques i developed a hole scale of (pre)exercises that i also use as a (in between) warming up. My 40 hour rebirth sessions most of the time focused on things like this as well, practiced both on the guitar and by mental visualization (imagining and feeling the moves/physical contact/energy exchange and sound as real as real can be). When possible i start with meditation and mental visualization.
