Anyone here in the know?

Not that I was in the market for anything guitar ( actually got a mighty fine handmade abroad that I am currently trying to figure out how to bring it over to my place), but yours truely clicked on that banner for matter of curiousity to albeit find very little of explanation.

However, I must say that in view of styling they seem to have managed some apperance with their guitars that quite looks like flamenco ( including reddish orange, Ricardo). Even find that shape of peghead not too bad. ( Not too bulky and reminds me of Neptun´s spear dynamics.)

If these axes sound only close to the way they look, this new kid on the block could eventually be a contender in the mass production shelf.
Somebody come across these?

Ruphus

I just clicked on it this past week as well. It certainly seems like he is heavily influenced by conde guitars - take a look at the gallery photos. I would also be interested to hear if anyone has tried his guitars.

I've played one recently
Big dry sound.. Great to play ..
I think foro member David heis owns one or two
Fantastic sounding guitars
In the Conde tradition
Very well priced

Hopefully will order one next year

There should be footage of nino jero using them.. Or if not public should be on his Facebook wall

As far as I can work out a small workshop in Jerez

But David should be able to fill us in

They are very flamenco guitars with good sound, I have visited his shop and David is also a great guy. He said he used to sell the guitars for 3500eur but he had to lower the price due to the crisis. Here a russian guy is selling them through "russian foroflamenco" and on the last pages you can see some pics of the guitars and famous players (just about every second famous jerezano has one of them and you can see many players in the flamenco Peñas using one):

I don't know how many years he's been building guitars but he said that the cypress he has in the shop , been laying there for 10 years so at least that long. I also liked that he used good expensive tuners(gotoh 35G510S I think) unlike many other luthiers who use max 70 euro tuners and that the guitars are made in what you can call heart of flamenco, barrio santiago.

Interesting.
I had expected some kind of sh!t-storm, but the comments actually come in pretty positive.

Whether because of crisis or for more of good guitar building out there, it quite seems as if over past years options have substantially improved for enthusiasts to find a fine guitar without costing an arm and a leg.

Only that general info is still decisive. From there a hurray! on the wonderful feature of internet, and and extra one for great forums like this one.

PS:
Remember the times when all a beginner had was the blurb from sales clerks and special magazines?
And naturally, the limited experience from roaming your towns stores. Which more often than not defined your purchase after all.

I've been using Gotoh tuners among others since they first arrived in the US. In my opinion they make two grades...good quality and junk. When I first started using them the good quality ones sold for $12 to $120 a set based on ornamentation. The function was identical. As far as I can tell nothing has changed except the price.

My point is not about the operation, but that many luthiers choose not to invest much in the tuners. The 35g510s tuner seems to go around 240-270usd. Even if it would be only for the looks the price difference between the expensive and cheaper one I still think its respectable to use the expensive ones.

I talked to david yesterday and he said Diego del Morao ordered just a second guitar from him so I suppose they are quite good considering Diego's guitar collection.
