Baklava -> Not to be a bother, just wondering where am I? (Nov. 19 2013 20:49:49)

Well I was looking up the background to the song "A song for Richard Collopy" by Sun Kil Moon. and I stumbled on this forum. And I just have a few questions.

1) I looked around the forum and little bit and saw that it's about guitars and guitarists. Well I've never played guitar, but I have one in my possession and I could learn it. Is this forum for experienced guitarists or can I just jump right in?

2) How many people go on this forum? I mean it seems like a tight knit community, with nice posts commemorating and remembering users who passed away. But at the top it says there are 15k new users a month, that sounds like a lot.

3) What's the normal age group on this forum? I'm pretty young.

Well I guess that's about it for now. Gonna give an early thanks for the replies since i'll probably forget to thank later. I'll probably stick around for a while. C'ya guys around.

Welcome to the foro (which might be a bit diferent than you think).

1: Actually the foro is about flamenco (singing/dancing/clapping/flamenco-guitar). Since most members practice the guitar many of the posts deal with this aspect of flamenco, but the underlaying point of focus is (playing) Flamenco. Everybody can jump in at any level but remember the key factor is flamenco, a very specialized kind of music which involves quite a specialized way of playing the guitar.

2: Others can commend this way better then i can

3: You can't start young enough but you might find out you don't like flamenco at all or only a small bit of it. So as far as your "just wondering were am i" is concerned, you are probably lost, but it might be the start of something nice (one university student of Paco Peña had no knowledge of flamenco other then having seen the film Carmen. A couple of years later he became a leading figure in the Dutch flamenco scene :-).
