barblackmore -> Moraito books (Nov. 7 2013 15:44:18)

Hello to everybody
Been thinking about start studying Moraito...
I`ve found two books offered for sale
-The Alain Faucher transcriptions of Morao y Oro
-The Encuentro Producciones book "La guitarra flamenca de Moraito"
Do you know which is one is more accurate and recommended to study?
Many thanks![8|]

have you got the cd? is that what you want to learn/study/play?

These transcriptions will likely differ slightly from the cd in places (AF usually mentions in forward), because he transcribed from videos he made specially for the project. There are clips of the SoleĆ” here;

and a bit of the Sevillanas here

have you got the DVD? The book is meant to accompany the DVD.... didn't someone post a YouTube vid of a VHS upload of it here the other day? You can watch the YouTube vid to check it out. Again, if that's what you want to learn/study/play then go for it.

There is quite a bit of overlap of material common to both the CD and DVD.

It's subjective and personal, but I prefer video to audio, and I prefer to learn falsetas (the DVD is more broken up into falsetas) than "pieces" (as on the CD).
