You have changed the brand of strings, medium or ht D'addarios may be a lesser tension than Augustine lows. There is no consistent description between brands

Another thing is ****ty strings that buzz and dont even intonate well. This usually happens with treble strings but I dont think it should happen with D'Addarios, they are the only brand of strings that never gave me trouble.

Thanks Rui, &Jeff thanks for your replys
just a thought is this down to vibration HT big bass strings when struck, the strings proberly move around a lot more, high tension strings seem to be wider than my low tension strings which seem to be thinner and maybe don't travel as much giving less buzz.

anyway just finishing my coco and of to bed thinking will I ever work out the compas to Bulerias .

Hi Jeff , my only way of testing various tensions of strings is purely down to being comfortable when playing and not really worrying about blowing the roof of the house as much as I would like to. Augustine lows really got me out of black hole so I can carry on playing but interesting point about D'addarios maybe lesser tension

By nature I will experiment with various brands

To Brit Guy; when you get the right string tension and the right height, you will know it however it measures.
