Hello Everyone,

I am a steel string player for 8 years now, but definitely a new flamenco guitar player. I'm looking for some advice on buying my first flamenco guitar.

I am looking for a guitar around the $500-$800 range. I don't want the cheapest guitar, but I am on a student budget and a beginner. I've seen the Cordoba GK Studio mentioned a lot or the GK Studio Negra. I tried some guitars out, however I only played with what Guitar Center had, which honestly wasn't the widest selection. I've heard some Yamaha models aren't bad either. I just want to pick the brains of people with more experience than myself with different brands of guitars. I'm really enjoying learning flamenco so I want to get my hands on my own guitar quickly!

Any thoughts or advice on good models in this price range would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the foro and greetings from holland. You can find a lot of info in old posts (using home or the search option)..... like this yesterdays post :-)

Cordoba F7 is $499, and can be had for less than that with a coupon. It is nicer and sounds better than any of the Yamaha CG172F flamencos I've personally tried.

Get yourself a used Fransisco Navarro. You can also find used Esteve guitars at that price range which are pretty nice.

I just got me a Camps MS-5 which fits your budget. It is supposed to be made in Spain, has a sweet sound and plays good too. I am really happy with it, check it out.
