Nutellabrot -> Guitar setup (Sep. 21 2013 16:27:49)

Hi all, I could use some advice getting the guitar set up properly. I got myself a Camps recently which has a trussrod installed.

The action at the 12th fret is just a bit over 3 mm at the low E. I am happy with this but have buzzing strings. Big time!
If I press the strings at the 1st and 14th fret there is some space between the strings and the frets at the 7th but not much, just a fraction.

Me thinks untightening the trussrod should give the neck a little more relieve and lowering the bridge to get the action back down - voilĂ : buzzes gone.

Could this work? Any help is appreciated.

some information from kenny hill who uses truss rods

and frank ford who has some nice articles on guitar set up, etc.

Done! Just a quarter of a counter-clockwise turn was enough, no adjusting of the bridge necessary. The buzzes are gone and the action is still good.

Truss rods are nothing but the best thing for any guitar to have.
