Hello boys and girls!

A quick question about recording. I just finished recording 15 palos for this year and although I tried to keep all the recording settings the same (volume, reverb, etc.), I have some palos that are a little lower in volume then others. Now when I put them onto a CD, I have to adjust the volume from palo to palo in the CD player to compensate for this.

I have Cakewalk software, but I don't use it much, but how would/could I go about leveling all the volume accross all palos to be the same? Does that make sense?

I would like to have the CD player play all the palos at the same volume. Can this be done and how would I go about doing that? Or, am I stuck with what I have?

Any help would be appreciated! ;>)

Merle,

You can use what is called "Normalize". I don't use Cakewalk, but I am sure you will find this function. Normalizing will raise the volume of all tracks to a fixed level. This will do it for you.

Now, I sent you my stuff (well some). Now you send me some. OK man. I need to do that stereo clip you wanted.

Pat, thanks for that info! It did what I needed to do. Also, after I normalized a palo, it lets me raise or lower the volume by 3 dbs at a time, so I got everything all adjusted nicely.
