Any one using one of these mics in a live setting as a wireless setup?
Any suggestions, thoughts, theories, criticisms or experience as to receivers and transmitters would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks in advance.

when i bought mine and spoke to the technician who also owns it, he said that even the best (expensive) wireless systems currently are not reliable enough in live situations so he advised me not to even try that...
if used in combination with a regular mic, it could work though, i think...
if and when you make it happen, please share your experiences!

I've used tie clip pin pics clipped to the soundhole and head good results wireless, only worry was the battery.

Maybe the technician expects guitarists to be lycra clad and run around the stage messing with the signal?

Thanks Richard
We are doing a show this month with a visiting singer so we hired the DPA head set vocal mic...( the 4000 I think )
And lapel mics for the palmas... All wireless
So will check out the system that goes with that..
But generally haven't heard much positive stuff regarding guitars and wireless on board mic set ups in live performance

I figure the transmitter must somehow supply the phantom power to the DPA ...good point !

I recall Paco Pena playing wireless getting close to 10 years ago. The guitar sounded good and there were no dropouts. That being said, I play at a lot of weddings, and every once in awhile, the wireless things don't work too well for the ceremonies.

When I was using wireless mics for documentary work (with expensive Sennheisers), interference was always a potential issue - electrical sources, cell phones etc.

If it happens during your performance you can't do much about it until you can change channel. There is a lot of bandwidth pollution nowadays from new frequency allocations for 4G to non CE/FCC-approved Chinese Android phones & tablets etc.

Advice for filmmakers is to wire it up unless you have absolutely no choice. I think this applies to live music as well and it is cheaper.

You mileage may vary.

Thank you escribano and miguel
I guess the kind of info I was hoping not to hear but expecting ..
For this performance the guitar ( and cajon ) will be using a standard cable patch and the rest wireless.. So safe to a degree
As I have the wireless units on hire for the whole weekend will test the dpa and report back
Again thank you for sharing your experiences

well he also said not to expect great quality because wireless severely diminishes it...but i guess that's less of a problem at a wedding, than in a studio...
