Hi everyone,

I am just working on some bulerias and coming across this chord.

I find it a bit of a pain to play the G with the pinky without muting the A. I normally have seen it written as above but I am wondering if players normally just mute out the A. Or should I just work on not letting the pink hit that A string.

Here is a photo of Chicuelo playing it.

Any thoughts would be welcome

Cheers

The A should ring. Your thumb on that hand might need to come down toward the bottom side of the fretboard(towards the floor).

Play a half bar at second fret (strings 234 only, leaving 1 open) second finger on the Bb . Reach back with third finger for G.

D.

Another option. Play A(add b9) with fingers 1 three and two (like a D major chord). To switch to G in bass turn first finger into half bar as above, leave third finger on Bb and move second finger onto low G.

You and your huge hands !!!![:@]

its gotta ring man. Do it like Chicuelo, no excuses or alternatives. even small handed guys can get it, but it takes work. Make sure your thumb is low enough behind the neck so you can get your little pinky ON TOP of the string.

If you’re 1st finger is flexible enough, you can play the A-shape with a half-barré that leaves the 1st string clear, and play the B flat & bass G with the 3rd & 2nd finger respectively.

Cheers Paul,

I guess each version each has its purpose depending on where you are coming from or going. Chicuelo does this one without the Bb 3 seconds later

I play mine with the ring finger on the 6th and the pinkie on the 3rd string.
