So we all have those weeks don't we?.......the 'why the f UK did I bother getting up this month' type.
Mine began with a court case which didnt go well ( unnecessary legal battle with an unknown concerning my late father's estate). Then I get the phone call to say my 82 year old mother has had a fall and fractured her pelvis in 2
places... she is doing OK thankfully but that's a major trauma at any age let alone 82. Then my wife needs to go into hospital to have an unpleasant procedure... thankfully she too is going to be OK. Then my eldest son tries his hand at being all the things you don't want your teenage son to be...this one will I know be ongoing!!And finally my dog is going weird... probably picking up on all the stress in the household at the moment.
One thing though, my guitar playing has improved beyond belief during this period but....I'd rather have continued to be a shi te player in the same musically frustrating place that I was at instead of seeing my loved ones go through any of the stuff I've mentioned above.
Sometimes everything really can be endless and then suddenly something you were really hoping for drops in your lap.....then you end up beating yourself up unfairly cause you start to think all the bad things were the trade off for the improvement... stupid...yes....human....very....****....always !!

Hey Pink,

If the guitar is working for you take it as a refuge and the fun part of life. You would have gotten better even if your family stuff did not go apewire. I hope the problems settle out and I'm sorry to hear of it.

Just take a deep breath and play the guitar because that is yours to own.

Hey Pink,
Man I know what your talking about. My long time business partner, he is going to be 69 years old next month was admitted to the hospital with double Pnuemonia last weekend and has been intubated; never a good sign. He is a throat cancer survivor of approx 5 years so he's comprimised and we suspect he most likely will never return to the business, I just found out last week that my 79 y/o mother has lung cancer, and oh yeah, our group had a photographer coming to a dress rehearsal that very day so I had to slap on a happy face. I had a good long term employee resign somewhat unexpectedly as her husband retired last year and they are moving out of the area. I had to hire a new person and of course now we have to train them and hope they work out. And if that aint enough, my long time girlfriend was diagnosed with CML lukemeia a year and half ago and has been on Gleevec which is causing her liver issues. She seems to be getting better but its always touch and go with any type of cancer.

No wonder Siguiriyas is my favorite form!

I hope things come round good for you and all those poor people who are going through it.
My thoughts are going to be with you and your family and friends too.
Best wishes sig !!

There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. "Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"We'll see," the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. "How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed.

"Maybe," replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

"we'll see," answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

"Maybe," said the farmer.
