Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone had experience playing Ricardo Sanchis guitars? I found an ad on craigslist and I am going to check it out tomorrow.

Here are the pics of it:

I've done research on this forum and it seems they are regarded rather well.

Anyway, what is your opinion on the guitar?

I've heard and played guitars by Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, but not Ricardo Sanchis.

They might be the same thing?

The labels look very similar.

Hola

Ricardo is the father of the boys who now run the workshop: he has semi retired but makes one-offs to keep himself amused. He was a close friend of Faustino and the founder of the Valencia taller. His guitars should be excellent, but you need to be sure of what you are buying.

I have a Ricardo Sanchis guitar that looks almost the same, same rosette and head stock, except mine has a cedar top. The label does not have the "Handmade in Spain" in English - that must have been for the American market. My teacher bought mine for me in Valencia. It was $750. It's marked 2AF but sounds better than that. I suspect it's a second class because it has two minor flaws, one on the top and one on the back, that don't look nice but they don't affect the sound. It was built in 1991. I am very happy with it.

I played a guitar from the father for 9 or 10 months. though it was a pau ferro negra.
Great looks, huge volume and it resonated Your belly like hell, but It was a too hard guitar for me.
Not that the strings were far from the fretboard or so, but it felt hard on my left hand, really don't know why... maybe the neck shape or some high frets. [8|]
