HolyEvil -> Gerardo Nunez video's Arppegio question (Jun. 3 2013 2:54:26)

on the above video. in the opening 30 seconds or so. Is Gerardo using his little finger for arppegios? I try to replay it many time but can't seem to tell.
Does anyone know what he uses for pimami arppegio due to his index finger problem?

cheers

I'd be surprised. I vaguely recall another thread a while back on which Ricardo said Gerardo is somewhat unique in that he makes little, if any, use of his pinky on rasgueado. If that's right, then he's probably not using that finger for arpeggios, either.

Additionally, I'd say that, given the proficiency of his m-a picado on the Encuentro DVD, he can play what's shown in the clip you posted using just p-m-a.

because i was at this concert at the forefront.
I really felt he used the little finger.

yes. Even when his hand was normal, he always moved the pinky along with the a/m movement. He has no nail on the pinky. Not even doing rasgueado with it. Many people asked over the years because his pinky moves if he is using it with arpegio or tremolo. NO he is NOT.
