Yes good stuff. I feel the performance is a little stiff being in a studio instead of perhaps a live audience, but I like the ideas. IN case people don't know the song forms, the first is buleria mostly extremeño style (jaleos) ... guadiana is from that region along with family members Ramon el Portuguese and Porrina de Badajoz. Next Taranto/Minera , interesting use of guitar vs piano accompaniment, as you can tell the guitar adds the "minera" flavor that the piano really can't just because of the key. Next is really interesting to me, Caña...not a lot of people singing this these days that I have noticed. I don't like the contrabasso however. Next Malagueña. Very nice but I am used to more drama in the voice than he is giving. I have an artistic disagreement with the C7 chord both Jesus and the piano give for that second line of verse. Even thought the melody is Bb (calling C7), I prefer they answer to F major with lots of drama. But i am sure this entire "concert" is all pre arranged with little or no improvisation. The tangos is again exremeño stuff with that one letra Ramon el Portuguesa sings on gerardo's Cd Jucal. Ricardo
