I believe that you luthiers in this forum are ALL very respectable with special skills and talent. I want only to say that in my field, all the times we (architects) use the kind of words that sound like "I have given more....than any other", that word "MORE" always gives problems to the ENJOYMENT of sharing the experience.

..............................................................................................................................

The word "More" that I used was to emphasize that I shared my "fine-tuning" experience here more than anyone. And I don't expect to be corrected by thought police that grab one word out of context to make a point.

The emphasis was on "fine-tuning", not other areas of the building experience. So, Ive given my share of information, and I doubt that it will go any further toward other facets of building, simply to avoid any more comments like the one above.

So I logged in again, just to reply to this one.
TomB... Could you back and read my initial post and then compare it to what you wrote.

If you do so, you´ll see that this was just a typical sentence from you. You always wrap the dirt you throw into "kind" words (my friend etc.). But in the end it is dirt what you just wrote. So thanks for comming out of the bush and show how you are and the way you act.

Did I write that this was my list and that it had be the way I´m saying? Maybe I´m blind, but when I go back, I read this:
"There are things going on here that I strongly dislike and which I cant accept. Its not my forum and its not me making the rules or saying where the limits are. This I accept and in order to respect that, I have to leave. At least for a while. "

I think everyone who´s been here for a while knows that reason number 1 for me to leave is that I´m so tired of you. And since this is an open forum, I´m the one who has to leave. You are not breaking any rules, I just cant accept what you stand for, what you do and what you represent. And this means that I have to leave. Its ok. Its the rules of the game and I accept that.
The whole energy is bad for me and its bad for the forum. This situation is only good for you, because it gives you the posibility to mention your oh so fantastic finetuning tecniques over and over again and to promote that you are the one talking MORE about that than anyone else.
Its fine if it works for you, but you present the whole story as if you are the only one with the answers. You are the only one who knows all the forgotten secrets. Its pathetic and its been ruining an enormous amount of discussions during the last 5 years.

Anders Eliasson -> RE: I´m taking a long break from the forum. (May 11 2013 17:04:01)

Besides what I just wrote,
I´m not angry at anyone. Noone has to feel guilty. my problems with the foro are more universal than personal.
I´m in a monent where I have to focus on possitive things in my life and since foroflamenco has had a negative impact in my emotional wellbeing for a while, I have to leave or take a break.

I hope the rest of you guys are enjoying your stay.

Good grief people....why all the freakin' drama? It's just an internet forum.
I grew tired of a few forums over the years and left them without ever feeling the need to make a grand exit. I just stopped reading and posting on them. It was easy.

Well, I see your point & you are right, but it just proves that the foro is not just an internet forum for some of us. To you & to me maybe, yes. But we should also empathise with the veterans who have shared so much over this forum over the years. Clearly it means a lot more to them.

I just hope the place continues to provide the information we seek on all aspects of flamenco - preferably without irritating anyone.

Over at AG we had a member that nicked himself Sasquatch. When I signed in he thought I was a troll, and since he was conservative we had our share of quarrels on the way.
But I liked him somehow, and he seemed to gradually realize that I am not a cannibal either ( only partially, hehe).

Then he suddenly stopped posting, and I am still wondering if he is still up and alive. I sure hope he does.

Had Anders left that way, it wouldn´t had inspired positive associations either, after the blow he has had.
I do personally associate real people behind the screens and think it just alright if they announce departure.

I agree, I'm on a piano forum which has several participants that I find extremely annoying. I simply skip over their messages when I see their names. I haven't found anyone that annoying on this list so far.

Listen guys,
We are all very different persons. I´m a emotional and passionate person and I say out things loud . Besides I was brought up this way. I´ve been a member here for 10 years, its been a big part of my life and I´ve always been interacting a lot and in a very direct way. Its not so easy just to say bye bye to something that has been a big part of your life.

To John Shelton and Charles Vega.
Your posts are absurd. You claim that if someone distubs you, you just let it pass and dont get involved. But here in this thread, you both start yelling even though it has nothing to do with the two of you. It doesnt make sense

This Foro was not my whole life, but it made my life whole.

I too made it a big deal when I left the Foro a few years ago. I too painfully suffered that self imposed deprivation. I too left on account of a rather 'negative energy' that a handful of members had generated. And I too was unable to ignore it.

I know that many here fully understand and can relate to this, and therefore to Anders' pain.

To some, on the other hand, this type of emotional involvement with the Foro seems ridiculous or even preposterous. And that is because they have not embraced this community as part of their life, but only as a form of entertainment.

Neither view is right nor wrong, but an intelligent and sensitive person will respect both sentiments, as they are.

Look, there is no reason to think this way, as all people have certain aspects of their career, building guitars, and that they choose to share with this list. I very seldom come on this list and talk about my current trends of building, etc.

And this has it's own way of working things out if you just let it alone. I've been very personable with you in past dialog I have had concerning your work, or guitars in general.

And I don't think you hate me, Anders, it's more like you hate yourself for being such an intolerant individual when it comes to me talking with 53 years of experience, and authority to question things I happen to disagree with...which is very seldom.

So, quit acting like this and come back and face it like a man. If you can't do that, then here's the deal, I'll leave this list for 2 months and if I come back, I won't mention any of your work or even praise your work, which I have done recently. How's that??

So, what is it to be? Deprive this list of your ongoing expertise, due to a small upset with me, or continue to rule as the foremost contributor for the benefit of this list's members?

Anders Eliasson -> RE: I´m taking a long break from the forum. (May 11 2013 19:10:49)

TomB. Stay or leave as you like. Its your decission. I´m not going to make deals with you. No way.

Re-read my post. I clearly made no such claim. Believe me, I've had more than my share of internet forum confrontations over the years. Like John Shelton, I will sometimes just ignore posts from certain people, including a couple of them who currently post on this forum. When I grow weary of it all I find it to be no problem to just stop logging in to that particular forum. End of story. No tears, no drama.
I enjoy reading some (I certainly don't read them all) of the posts even if they are a bit ridiculous and/or childish at times and contributing when I feel that I have something to offer (and, on occasion, just to be a smartass) but leaving this or any other internet forum would have very little, if any, effect on my life.
Get your heads out from where the sun doesn't shine, guys. There's a big, wide, wonderful world out there.

"Yelling"...what a joke. I have as much right to comment on this thread as anyone else and it's definitely not yelling. The absurdity is for anyone to take this forum and for that matter himself so seriously.

Anders, I'm old enough to be your Dad, and I don't like to argue with a young man who is full of oats, so let's be civil. You have a lot to contribute to this list, and I, for one, feel, that if you need to take a vacation, then have fun and enjoy life.

Have a good summer Anders, I hope to see you again soon. I value your contributions a lot.

Flamencosaint -> RE: I´m taking a long break from the forum. (May 16 2013 10:04:33)
