I've been using Savarez red cards on my '67 Ramirez 1a blanca since it was new. After I made a new bridge saddle for it in about 1996, sometimes the A-string would break at the saddle, after a couple of months. I finally got off my butt and smoothed off the saddle with some 500 grit sandpaper, and it hasn't broken since. I like the sound, and they last OK for me. I've been using the Savarez red cards on my '82 Arcangel Fernandez blanca since I bought it in 2000. I like the sound, they play in tune, and they last long enought to suit me--but I should mention that the Arcangel is the loudest guitar I have ever played. Also I should mention that I bought a bunch of Savarez red cards five or six years ago, then laid off playing until recently, so I have no experiience with recent Savarez production. RNJ
