What would be the best advice you can give to a newbie starting to learn flamenco guitar? thanks

Get yourself a guitar and start practising... a lot... and start listening to Flamenco as much as you can, because listening is as important as practising.

That's basicaly it, welcome to the Foro!

Welcome!

Agree with Fred and would just add, get a teacher.

Welcome - I agree with my buddy from Los Angeles. Get a good teacher if possible. That 1 to 1 teacher to student experience is the best possible way to learn [;)]

Welcome to the foro. The best advice is indeed to listen, view and play a lot and to find yourself a good teacher (not the kind that plays his own stuff and expects you to figure it out yourself, but one who can really teach/coach you in understanding both the music and the technique). I freewheeled myself for over 10 years before i took my first flamenco lessons and basically had to start all over again.

One thing to add if I may, as I'm a beginner myself: Get the best teacher you can find and afford.

OMG, I am so lucky! I have THE BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD! I took her class 6 years ago. And now she is again my teacher.
