suniram -> bubble in golpeador (Apr. 4 2013 21:17:00)

Hi All,

I installed the golpeador on my first build about a week ago, and it went all quite good. Without any bubbles. ....
at least until yesterday, when I opened the case and took the guitar out and saw: a little bubble where there hasnt been any for almost a week.
How can that be ?? [:@]

Dunno.. I suppose theres only one fix to the problem

one theory (maybe?): when you installed the golpeador was the weather sunny and when you opened the case yesterday was the weather cloudy with possible rain? i ask in that maybe when you did the installation the barometric pressure was high but is now lower and an air bubble previously unnoticed expanded (rather, the outside pressure is lower allowing the expansion)? not sure if such a thing could occur but maybe?

many thanks keith

hmm...to be honest..i cant remember the exact weather those days. probably it was rainy and cold as almost the whole march and april so far. But i am also not sure if this could have such an effect.

I left the guitar about 4-5 days to dry after applying last shellack layers and car polish. Might that have been too short? hmm. Maybe still some alcohol evaporates and caused that bubble. But I would find this a really long time after putting the golpeador on...

no idea...anyway i WONT take it off again :)
its the first build and its just for me. and it sounds great, also with a small bubble in the golpeador.

best regards
Marinus

Aliens, most likely. But at any rate, bubbles usually (or always) disappear by themselves with a couple of weeks, so don't worry.
