Happy St. Patrick's Day to all Irish and Wannabe Irish!

To demonstrate the influence of the Irish worldwide, as one example I would point to Chile. I spent three years assigned to the American Embassy in Santiago, Chile. Chile was ruled by Spain from the Viceroyalty of Peru. But it achieved its independence from Spain in 1821 through the efforts of the Liberator--Bernardo O'Higgins!
