pink -> Madrid calls (Mar. 1 2013 22:35:12)

So big brother (top bloke) has moved to Spain and is currently living it up in Madrid. Renting a nice apartment with his woman, painting during the day and soaking up the culture the rest of the time! Now the dear chap has invited my wife,children and me over for a holiday later in the year......obviously I'm going to have to buy a guitar...would be rude not to!!! Which shops shall I visit? Are there any I should avoid? New/used? Shall hopefully
have around £2000 Sterling. Any comments /suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

+1 to the Yamaha 172sf ... even if it was made in jest...

i picked one up about a week ago as a substitute for my $1000 cordoba 55fce that broke on the heel

to my ears it sounds better, plays better, and the stock action is good enough to play falsetas on the higher frets comfortably. i absolutely love it

Hi nealf.....no rather foolishly overlooked the obvious!

Oh well.......looks like I may have stumbled more than once with this post by not bothering
to consider the obvious yet again....go upstairs where you work and try that Yamaha again on a warmer day...it will feel more like Madrid and you'll save a shed load of money on travelling expenses. Will make sure I wear my flip flops
and holiday shorts too!! lol [;)]
Thanks guys
Regards

Try "Guitarras de Luthier". It is just steps from Atocha Station, I went there a year and a half ago and I was very impressed with the selection. You can compare guitars from different makers side by side.
