Not that we need another documentary on the guy
But this looks pretty sharp with some snips
Of never before seen footage

Leñador -> RE: Paco movie (Feb. 28 2013 17:53:15)

I'm sure I'll watch it.

There goes that Amos Lora kid at 1:50.............

Blondie#2 -> RE: Paco movie (Feb. 28 2013 19:01:44)

Thanks for that, another one to add to the collection...

British foro members - is that really a Top of the Pops clip at 43s? Paco looks too old there for Entre so I can't work out what it would be.

Yeah, looks like it. PdL was touring with Almoraima in 1976 and appeared on Parky (wrongly titled at 0:41 secs, by the way).

World top hit with Brian Adams in 1995 for the movie Don Juan de Marco...there was a VH-1 Video for it where Paco wore a Zorro mask and played his lester devoe while Brian stood on the table strumming for two hot flirting lesbians. Great times, too cool for pop it was in 3/4, and movie wasn't THAT bad. His solo was pretty cool too for a pop song. Didn't know they ever performed it live.

2:07 Hilarious!! I hope he made a good buck on this. [:D]

athrane77 -> RE: Paco movie (Feb. 28 2013 20:25:39)

who's that Paco guy? a brazilian-jazz guitarist?

por medio -> RE: Paco movie (Feb. 28 2013 20:29:14)

First time I saw this video. It seems that the video (or Bryan Adams or the director) does realise the significance of having Paco there which is great.

And to his credit Bryan Adams doesn't use a pick when strumming.

I wonder why he ditched his conde for DeVoe for this video?

Now I am too, they must have just made it private.

tk -> RE: Paco movie (Feb. 28 2013 22:48:58)

At one time, there use to be a YouTube file where Paco and Bryan were playing live this piece.

THey must have found out we link to it and changed the settings. Oh well, it was just a trailer and a VERY good advert for the thing. I can't wait till it's on DVD. Just like the short backstage piece on DVD that came with Paco's live album, this documentary is produced by his kids from his first wife (Curro, Lucia and Casilda). Even though there are not flamencos looks like they have other talents with video/movie production.

First wife? I didn’t even know he’d been divorced (although I thought it must be significant when she didn’t appear on the Francisco Sánchez DVD). Shows how out of touch I am with the gossip.

How many has he had?

The little girl Antonia is the daughter of Paco and his Mexican girlfriend. I believe they are now married, but not sure of any other children.

Miguel de Maria -> RE: Paco movie (Mar. 2 2013 3:14:09)

I saw the Bryan Adams video before I had heard anything about flamenco. But I distinctly remember that "old guy" playing guitar in the background. I thought it was very cool and "Spanishy". Later when I got into flamenco, I wondered if it was indeed Paco... and indeed it was!
