I'd send you my copy free but you'd have to pay for the shipping and from LA to Lisboa the shipping might be more then what the book costs.....

It doesnt have to be that particular book... Any flamenco book would do. I have nothing on paper and I would like to go to my living room on weekends and play stuff from a book instead of being in front of a computer with internet [:D]

The only time Ive sent something to America (a CD) the shipping was 2,5€ I guess...

when I sent to europe it was 15.00. have you tried getting tabs off the net like sals flamenco soapbox has a lot of stuff, maybe not what you want but you can practice some of those things

Dennis's books were originally published by AIG music, then Mel Bay bought the rights. You should be able to get them from Mel Bay

they are quite old I would think you could get a deal at like half priced books or something or even ebay

aarongreen -> RE: dennis koster books (Feb. 19 2013 2:23:12)

I just googled Dennis Koster Keys to Flamenco and found them on Amazon. The Mel Bay published ones, of which there are three volumes. I am not sure what you mean by quite old, the oldest is from 1995 and the information is not really subject to being obsolete.

There are three volumes. The first was republished by Mel Bay. The Mel Bay edition corrected a LOT of errors in the original edition. It's available from:

Good price ($22.30 US), and free shipping to Portugal (and everywhere else in the world).

The volumes two and three have not been republished. I talked to Mel Bay last summer and they didn't have any plans to issue those other two volumes. I would suggest starting with the first volume, it will take you some time to fully absorb it. The original volume two can be purchased from many sites (new!) but at a higher price than the above. I have not seen anyone selling a new copy of volume three, but it occasionally shows up used. Volume three is just "concert-level" solos. Volumes one and two have all the instructional material.

I cant buy anything from USA. Can only receive things as gifts or else things might get too expensive.

I'll check if there are some inexpensive books here in europe.

Anyone has something to say about these?

Iam not looking for the typical songbooks or the "this is a guitar, you have 6 strings to play on" kind of books.

I prefer the ones that are like collections of short ideas/licks/riffs (falsetas I guess) instead of full songs.

there is actually a lot of stuff online but maybe not what you want and it mightnot be accurate but is certainly good for practice, try sals flamenco soapbox for one and classtabs has some

Sr. Martins -> RE: dennis koster books (Feb. 19 2013 21:10:55)

I think Ive sorted this department already, thanks :)

Ive got lots of the online stuff... but I would rather have one book and use it than have loads of stuff on the hard drive and never use them.
