My good friend, xirdneH_imiJ, is taking flamenco guitar tablature to the next level. Listen to this great rendition of Paco de Lucia's El Chorruelo that he came up with!

You can buy such high quality material from his website over here:

The beauty is that he provides Guitar Pro 6 files of his work so you can learn as effectively as possible - slow things down, speed them up, play them back, etc. The awesomeness is that you can actually listen to the file rather than just having to read it, and I personally think that makes a HUGE difference. He also is very meticulous and makes the greatest effort to transcribe with the highest fidelity possible to the original work. It's a whole new experience of learning flamenco guitar music!

Olé!!!

He should have them available in gp5 format too... gp6 only is like shooting yourself in the foot after all the work.

Obviously dude. The GP concept in general is what was part of the "future" of flamenco tabs. [;)] Using GP6, it is only a click away to export into GP5, and I'm sure that can be arranged.

thanks Ramzi!
actually they're all convertable to GP5, unfortunately there are some things that GP5 doesn't support...
i don't see why it would be a shot in the foot?
plus everything is also in pdf...

Well... exactly by the reasons you've exposed:

-they should be converted in order to work outside gp6
-they should be adapted for functionality outside gp6

The bottom line is that almost everyone agrees gp6 is a crappy product, gp5 is a way better piece of code.

Why did you not tell us before?? This is very cool man thanks!

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: The future of flamenco guitar tabs!!! (Feb. 15 2013 15:52:09)

well I'm sorry you feel that way...when i started transcribing i chose GP6 because it made sense at the time, to work with a (supposedly) more advanced product...i know that's not always the case, i still prefer Photoshop 7 from about ten years ago to its current versions...
but im afraid re-writing all tabs just so they're "made for" GP5 is out of question, it's waaaay too much work and is actually not worth it at all...that's why i do tabs that i want to play, and not just anything that may sell...

Sr. Martins -> RE: The future of flamenco guitar tabs!!! (Feb. 15 2013 16:08:07)

Thats not what I meant lol

You can export all the gp6 files as gp5. Some of them will need some fine tuning while most of them shouldnt need anything at all.

This is only a suggestion in order to make your work available to everyone, gp6 is somewhat "elitist".

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: The future of flamenco guitar tabs!!! (Feb. 15 2013 16:10:07)

well those who asked, i converted for them, i didnt re-work the parts that gp5 doesnt like, but thats like 2 notes per tab in the worst case...
curiously when i convert Chorruelo to gp5, it doesn't open for some reason...oh well...
if gp6 is elitist, wait until 7 comes out! :P

I also agree having them in a guitar pro format helps immensely. Good site!

gounaro -> RE: The future of flamenco guitar tabs!!! (Feb. 15 2013 18:36:43)

Thanks
