keith -> RE: what do you think about this gerundino? (Feb. 14 2013 12:16:15)

that would be a gertrude fernandez guitar. gertrude was gerundino's car mechanic and... [:D]

i suspect the guitar is a factory made guitar sold in a shop in almeria or is a hand made guitar by some guy named fernandez who was not gerundino. the photo's are pretty blurry and i was unable to decipher an address.

Well, in the last picture of the label I can see

Buenavista, 4 - PL. Quemadero,
Almería (España)

which was Gerundino's address. But the label is totally different in style to other guitars by him from the '80's and '90's. Look at this, from 1980.

The headstock shape is not Gerundino. Nor is there a stamp on the back. The label should read Gerundino, not G. Fernandez.

It might be a good guitar but it is not a Gerundino.

Look at this.
Seems there more like that around...

Maybe putting G Fernandez is a loophole to try avoiding prosecution. The labels are wrong on both, although they did use his address. On a real 1969 Gerundino he put five stamps inside on the tail block, under the front, on the heel and some GF's on the harmonic bars. This gives me the impression Gerundino was aware someone was counterfeiting his work as far back as then.

This is an Eladio Fernandez, the brother from Gerundino Fernandez. Full name Eladio Fernandez Garcia.

Hello,
I agree with Gerundino 63,
This is an Eladio Fernandez: you can almost see Eladio's label under the fake one.
By the way I found a very similar Eladio (same rosette and similar Headstock) just few moths ago, so I've no doubts about.
