britguy -> Nice 3/4 size guitar! (Feb. 5 2013 14:47:44)

Looking for a small practice guitar to play in the car on long drives, I recently acquired a Cordoba 'Cadette' 3/4 size guitar - on sale at Guitar Centre for about $249 or so. 615mm scale length, and only 36 inches long, and has an adjustable truss rod. Also includes a nice padded gig case. . .

I am very surprized at the quality of this little instrument. Nicely built, solid cedar top, nice finish. Plays really well, with amazing amount of sustain for such a small body. I put on a set of Luthier 20's, which seem to work very well on the shorter scale.

To 'flamenco-ize' it, I lowered the saddle about 1 mm, and put on golpeadores. Very easy action, with no buzzes.

If anybody's looking for a small guitar for any reason, I'd suggest taking a look at this one. For the price it's really not bad.

(Just in case: I have absolutely no connection whatever with Cordoba, or anyone else, whoever. Just trying to help other Foro members who might be looking for a smaller instrument. . .)

Yeah, right. [8D]

Glad you like it. [;)]

Glad you like it. The tone from the Cadete is good for a 3/4 and I also considered it for a travel guitar.

I just found the 48mm nut width a bit narrow. Also, as small as it is, I didn't think it would be much less bulky than a full-sized guitar for my trips. I ended up just buying a Yamaha C40 for $120.
