Hi all,

I'm a one time occasional poster, looking for some advice.

What do you think this headstock is made of? Could it be brazilian rw? Basically I'm wondering whether to risk taking this guitar through customs or not (Australian).

fyi, it's a 1998 Burguet 2F cypress flamenco if that helps.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Dom

Certainly not brazilian, they wouldn't use it in 2f guitar. Walnut is my guess.

And if customs are these days busting headstocks I suppose they need some ass whooping.

About all anyone can say from a picture is it's probably a tropical hardwood of some kind. I wouldn't worry about customs.

Thanks for the views - sounds like it's not much of a risk then.

btw, it looks more reddish in real life, doesn't seem like walnut to me but who knows.
