NenadK -> Trip to Spain this year (Jan. 8 2013 4:34:15)

I have wanted to go to Spain for quite some time but real life kept getting in the way. This year I will finally have the opportunity to spend some time there. I will probably be going for 3-4 weeks. I was originally planning to go to the boot camp set up in Ron's memory but now as it seems that there was not enough interest I am forced to make other plans.

I haven't done a lot of travelling so I'm not very good at planning these things so the boot camp would have actually made things quite easy for me since I would know when I have to actually go. Now that that's not going to happen I am able to go pretty much whenever and wherever. Even going to see other countries outside of Spain isn't out of the question. Having said that, Spain will remain my main destination and I will spend most of my time there.

My question for all of you that know a thing or 2 about Spain is what time is the best time to go? Any information about specific festivals or annual events that might be of interest is greatly appreciated. What I hope to do is compile a list of all things that seem interesting and then decide which 3-4 weeks might cover most of them. I would be particularly interested in going to Granada and Jerez de la Frontera. I imagine that most of these festivals are in the summer but if not, I'm not opposed to going in the spring or fall either.

Any help and advice will be *greatly* appreciated by this amateur traveler. [:D]

Nenad K.

Ok to not only reduce my contribution to trolling... here what I usually planed when going to spain.

I made sure I have my guitar with me and a plane ticket. Since Spain isn´t expensive,... the rest..improvisation. All...no big deal. Once I even missed my flight back...and just prologed for 1 week.. in Sevilla. uumm just realize..I didnt read the initial post carefully..so maybe I didnt give the answer to any questions.. well well... too late. :-|

Personally I would recommend spring or fall as depending on the location it can get very hot and crowded in the summer. I definately recommend visiting granada.
