Richard Jernigan -> RE: Felix Manzanero (Dec. 29 2012 2:01:45)

I visited Manzanero in June, 1991, along with several others when I was in Madrid to buy a good classical before moving to the central Pacific. I made the rounds more than once, playing for a while at each place. Felix kept one guitar back for me while I was choosing. I ended up buying a Contreras doble tapa from Manuel Sr., another sterling gentleman of the "Madrid School." When I went by to thank Manzanero, but to say I had bought a Contreras, he said he was happy that I had found the instrument I liked, and invited me out for wine and tapas. What a guy! RNJ
