Hi All,

I can use some help here.....
Want to dig into blues a bit.
Is there a guitar solo piece in the 12 bar blues scedual that is nice to play?

I mean a complete piece, no riffs or single note style things.

Any directions are very appreciated!

Peter.

The Davy Graham album "The Complete Guitarist," available on Stefan Grossman's site, has a couple of nice pieces, one played on nylon and the other on steel-string guitar. The titles are "Blues for Gino" and "Sara."

There must be many more things. Maybe Taj Mahal? Years ago, I spent some time looking and didn't like most of what I came across because it didn't transfer well to a full-sized nylon-string guitar (because there were other instruments in the mix or because of the guitarist's technique).

Oh yeah I got something for you.....why not ask the same or maybe even similar question ....but .... wait for it ... not on a Flamenco guitar site ???......

How about ...and its just a thought,, by way of trying to help ... you ask on a "blues guitar site ???"
And if you met anyone that liked to try some flamenco .. why they could come here , it would almost be like a cultural interchange ....

If this is not working, I might try your suggestion![;)]

blues? a lot of the best blues were simple five or 6 note runs in the first position off the a string, [e chord stuff] john lee hooker, elmore james, made if famous, and keith richards took it further. there are blues tab sites and a lot of stuff is tabbed if you know the artists. past that if you stick to pentatonic scales that is the basis for blues as well as rock. check for tabs for stuff like boom boom boom and honky tonk women to get the idea. if you listen to zztop billy gibbons took it a step furhter but its basic blues. and Hendrix [heard of him] was basically a mississippi blues player see voodoo chile slight return.
