I've heard it said that practicing rasgueado can benefit your overall fingerstyle playing by developing the extensor muscles, leading to more balanced development of the hand/fingers (since the flexors get so much use). Do you think it might benefit pickstyle playing as well? The extensors certainly contribute to my picking/strumming, and some rasgueado patterns, like the pmp triplet, have a wrist turn that seems like it could carry over to some extent.

Any thoughts?

Any way of exercising the extensors is bound to improve all aspects of playing, so spending time strengthening those extensor muscles in the arm and hand is bound to help, and the opposing muscles should get treatment too (one of those spring-grip exercvisers is a simple way of doing that). For the extensors holding your arm out in front of you for a couple of minutes at a stretch while extending your four fingers one at a time like a rasqueo move will do them good, you'll feel the burn

Nice, I'll give that a try. Thanks!
