guitarbuddha -> Toilet paper versus word processing software. (Dec. 12 2012 14:44:56)

Hi all. Here is a note my cousin Jim Yobo insisted I write here, he really loves writing and needs help.

I have recently been getting into creative writing but am illiterate ( my friend is writing for me) . However i heard that Jack Keroac wrote his famous book on the road entirely on a sheet of toilet paper.

I was really really impressed by this. However some of my friends who arent illiterate werent and said that I shouldnt write on toilet paper but that most current authors were using computers.

Well I was disheartened by this but then I realised that they were all snobs and that I probably knew better cause Im so smart, and anyway they all only read and write a bit and none of them have written a book like im gonna do one day, when I've learned how.

So another friend (not one of the ones above, gosh this is getting confusing) said that he was in a classroom learning to read (hes smart like me and only 36) and they were writing on guess what ..... paper . So I asked him if he could ask the teacher (who is apparently like super nice) if toilet paper was good for learning to write. AND HE SAID YES that if there was no regular paper then toilet paper would do fine although the results might be a difficult to present well and might fall apart.

So I was right, like you know I always am about everything. I dont even think I need to learn about computers now so there (not cause they are hard though in case thats what your thinking). So althoug ive made up my mind if anyone is crazy enough to try and offer an alternative view we can argue loads, and you will all lose.

------------------

Ill be sure to pass on any feedback to Jim as he is dead keen on writing a book, and really deserves help.

D

i think using a fountain pen and cheap toilet paper is a great idea, although your cousin may have to learn a bit of patience - it'll also give him the chance to practice the basics thoroughly...
