Hi, I just joined the forum today. [:)] I've been playing classical & fingerstyle guitar for over 20 years. But I have always been interested in flamenco guitar. I do have to tell you all that I had an industrial accident about 16 years ago which involved my right hand. I lost most of my "a" finger and the tip of my pinkie. However I've created a pick that fits on the tip of my pinkie that allows it to take the place of my "a" finger. I've been studing flamenco on my own with online lessons/books and I am able to do rasgueados like e, m, i, i(up). So I'm finding ways to accomplish certain techniques with what I have. Does anyone know of a good flamenco guitar teacher in the Portland, OR area? I've looked but can't seem to find any. [:(] I still need to get a flamenco guitar. I have an old 1983 Aria AC18 concert guitar with pretty low action. And with the capo it does sound more flamenco-ish. This is a very cool forum and all of you in here that I've heard play awesome! I'm looking foward to learning flamenco and being able to play it properly. Thanks, MarkMc
