Save yourself 80.00 bucks and just super glue a file to block of Spanish Cedar. I have two of them that are ten years old, I don't plan on replacing them anytime soon. One reason for that is because I hardly ever need to use them. I just grab a file and do it by eye. There's a funny article by Frank Ford where he shows how to do frets and he has some jiggy thing made up, but he takes the file and does it by eye. 35 is good, but if you want maximize the amount of playable board, you can go shallower. That is why I don't use the file jig all the time. On refrets or even my guitars I don't always want that much angle. Sometimes a shallower angle means there is a slight bit more board to slide the string around from side to side without danger of going over the fret. On refrets you can't count on the guy before you having set up the board with enough width to allow 35 degrees. You have to give it what it asks for. Once you make a steady pass or two with the file it sets the path angle. The thing that is difficult about fret ends is getting them snag free and smooth to the fingers.
