Anders Eliasson -> Any decent slowdowner for Android tablets. (Nov. 20 2012 7:46:55)

My E.book died yeaterday. I´ve had 2. Both have died 1 year old. First one was a Sony last one was a cheapsh*t one.

So, I dont like E-books...
I´m pretty sure many of you have tablets. Thats the trend now. So my question is if you have found a decent slowdowner program or app (to be in the trendy world) that slowdowns music without changing the pitch.

I use Amazing slowdowner on my PC and I think its a 5 star program. It exist for Ipads, but my economy is not interested in apple products even though I like them and respect them.. (so please dont turn this thread into something about apple products)

Hi Anders,

I think you mean "my economy is NOT interested in apple products....". Not to start a Apple v. Android debate, either. I program both.

This gets some good reviews https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gabriel.audioslower.pro&hl=en

Hi Anders,

I use 'Anytune' for music and 'Anytube Lite' for videos; both good and reliable.
I use them on my iPhone (which I wish I could ditch!). I'm fed up with iTunes; I miss the whole simplicity of 'drag and drop' in Android (sorry I couldn't resist the rant!)

I think you can use both of the above mentioned on Android too; worth a try!

Good luck.
A

Simon, you´re right. I forgot the 'not' in my text. Maybe its because my spiritual advisor has told me that I use that word to much and that I should stop doing so....[&:]

Argaith,
Thanks for the advice. I´ve surfed around the anytune website and I havent found anything that works with Android. That could be me. But it seems to me that you can only get it from App store and ¿that means Apple?

For those interested, I contacted Roni music which makes the amazin slowdowner and asked if they were going to make a version for Android. here´s the answer:

Sorry no, and no plans either

I've looked at the Android Market Store, there seem to be some similar apps
but they all (both?) seems very bad.

The audio system in Android is a toy and one need to program in a toy
language called "Java",
and you need to hack around using open source Linux things you can find on
the internet.
Also, as programmer you need to support hundreds of configurations and
screen sizes.

For iPhone there are at least 15 apps like Amazing Slow Downer (and some are
really good) and it's easy to understand why,
the audio system in iOS is a dream to program for (it's exactly the same as
in Mac OS X), as is the operating system itself.

My advice to you is to get yourself an iPad, you will never regret it.

Might be worth investigating some of these
http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/29777

"Tunepal is THE app of all time and includes speed and key transposition
Also searches over 20000 tunes from all the main collections in seconds by either name or sound sample of your playing
Written by Brian Duggan who gives awesome support this is by far the best software in any platform and for an Irish trad player it is just fantastic
You can also compose tunes or edit any imported tunes - I can't even think of any way to improve this program - there really is nothing else in the same street !
If you haven't got Android or iPhone get one just for this software and you won't regret it "

"AUDIO SPEED CHANGER PRO, from the Android marketplace. It really is very good. It does exactly what it claims to."

"Well I ended up getting 'Audio Speed Changer Pro' since I
couldn't find anything else that looked as stable. It works fine -
has all the features I wanted. It can slow things down by up to
75% although at that speed it sounds really bad."

Thanks Val Very nice find.. Welcome to the sessions lurker club. (What a chaotic place)

I´ll have a look at the programs. And the fact is that I´ll be using it mostly for irish fiddle music.

Very nice find..

Thanks Anders - hope you find something that works for you.
I play the search engines very well - wish I could say the same for guitar (in any style)
