Chris999 -> Flamenco Guitarist Autographs Wanted (Oct. 30 2012 18:08:26)

Hello everyone,
I just found this forum and joined, and am really excited to take in all the information that the site has to offer. One of my hobbies is collecting autographs from the great guitar players out their.

Although i have been fairly successful in my search, their are still several signatures that have alluded me. If anyone out their has any of the following signatures (on anything/doesnt matter if inscribed) and would be willing to sell, please contact me.

1.) Sabicas
2.) Kazuhito Yamashita (not technically flamenco, but does dabble)
3.) Tomatito
4.) Ramon Montoya
5.) Nino Ricardo
6.) Vicente Amigo
7.) Mario Escudero
8.) Juan Manuel Cañizares
9.) Manolo Sanlucar
10.) Melchor de Marchena

I know some of these musicians are rare signers and some have passed away, but i thought it was worth a shot. If anyone has any of the above, please get in touch with me.

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone out their will be able to help.

Chris

I have Vicente's autograph on my capo - but I really need my capo.

I have Sabicas autograph on a program, but I've never thought of parting with it. I can't imagine that it's value would be so much that I'd let it go. But for a couple of million US , I'd have to consider it. :-)

I doubt that it would have much monetary value as far as autograph collectors in general are concerned but a Sabicas autograph is probably a somewhat scarce thing. It's my understanding that he was essentially illiterate. He supposedly could scrawl out his name (there's a reprint of a signed photo of him in one of Dennis Koster's books ) but not much else.

OK, in that case, maybe five million. I met him after a concert in about 1985-my teacher Mariano Cordoba introduced me. He signed several programs that night I think.

Thanks for the replies so far,
Sabicas is a rare autograph to be sure. I have seen several for sale in the past 5 years, after the sale. And they were purchased in the 100-150 dollar range. But sadly have not had the chance to purchase one yet.
Hopefully someone reading this forum will have some good news for me soon.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Nice hobby you got there! I have a guitar with a couple of autographes. I collected them during my flamenco guitar studies. How nice would it be to have Sabicas and Nino Ricardo and Melchor the Marchena sign it! I guess we would have to dig em up in order to do so!
The people who have signed my guitar so far: Paco the Lucia, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Manuel Canizares, Manolo Sanlucar (front), Geronimo Maya, (the late) Moraito, Javier Conde, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Chicuelo (sides), Paco Pena, Gerardo Nunez, Paco Serrano, Manolo Franco, Steve Vai (I know....), Erkan Our, Nino Josele, Pepe Romero, Miguel Angel Cortes, Alfredo Lagos and Diego the Morao (back).
Well, good luck to you!

Regards,

Thijmen

Jesus mate! They look like they're removable, can't you just throw Steve Vai's on an Ibanez or something? [;)]

gitanillotomillo -> RE: Flamenco Guitarist Autographs Wanted (Nov. 2 2012 21:10:21)

Well, he first signed, then I custum cut a golpeador to fit the autograph. All the autographes were put directly on the guitar before I put a custom golpeador on them. This way they will last for many decades to come.

Gotcha, I don't dislike Steve Vai, just seems funny in that group of names[:D]

Chris999 -> RE: Flamenco Guitarist Autographs Wanted (Nov. 9 2012 20:11:48)

I was able to cross Escuerdo off the list, but still looking for the others. Thanks for all the help.

Ramon Amira -> RE: Flamenco Guitarist Autographs Wanted (Nov. 9 2012 20:16:24)

But do you have Esteban's?

Ramon
