Hell Yeah! My mission is to see if it is possible to build 30 guitars in one year. So I have to produce atleast 5 guitars every 2 months. I've Just started 6 more, no flamenco guitars though in that batch. I have had that Ziricote for about 4 years or so and was dying to use it. I got it from timber line in tonbridge. I think Dave Dyke also has some nice Ziricote in too. Classicals are my bread n butter really there's just not enough flamenco guitarists over here and even less that think a Guitar maker in the UK is capable of making a great flamenco guitar! Pop in if your ever in my neck of the woods, Did you do Stephens course with Pablo as the second teacher? Pablo only lives 15 minutes from my neck of the woods too.

Just finished an Indian negra that I am keeping for myself. Excuse old strings.. I forgot to order a box of strings and ended up with 2 brand new finished guitars and no way to hear them!!! Que imbecil soy! Images are resized automatically to a maximum width of 800px

Since the Bendipig is an official loofer tool, you have to sell them for $700 and not a penny less. Very nice Negra Jorge, old strings and all[:)]

I did Stephens course but Ricardo Ramos was the second teacher. David Dyke sent me pictures of their ziricote and it's pretty stunning. I'll have to grab some before they run out because it seems pretty rare in the UK. For some reason I bought some bird's eye maple instead and it made me realize I really need to buy a thickness sander. Jorge that's a nice rosette.

Ahh yes Ricky! I was his teacher on the course before that! He came to stay at my house while he did a Steal string building course up here in Lewes. I havent heard from him for a while though, He keeps winning Luthier of the year in Puerto Rico! I think my personal limit at the moment is about 22 guitars a year. It has gone up by 2 over the few years. I have been helping a friend out who finds him self needing work. So he comes in two days a week and cuts braces and bars and helps with all the easy stuff. This leaves me to all the more complicated stuff so It will probably mean about 30 guitars. I wouldn't say the way I build is everyones cup of tea. I am much less arty about the way I build. I developed a style that suited me and have built to that ever since. So the looks of my guitars haven't changed and thats the way I like it. I must admit though I am currently working on a new look I think it's time I had some slightly more adorned guitars as I am just about to reach 100. There is lots of nice work from all the guys here though! Professional and amaters alike. Nice to see.

2 examples of contrasting bindings on Negras. This is something that is bene done a lot in the steel string world, but a lot less in the flamenco guitar world. In general, flamenco guitarists are very conservative when it comes to design. The top one is Indian rosewood with Pau Ferro bindings and the bottom one is panama rosewood with Indian rosewood bindings. Images are resized automatically to a maximum width of 800px

Right, I can finally contribute to your thread Andy. You may need to store in volumes after a while?? Latest offering.......a short scale - 640mm for people like myself who are digitally challenged. 50yr old sycamore, own rosette, self bindings, pale orange shellac with dragons blood, a slightly different bracing too this time. Curves from a Santo/Barbero cross. Nice and light. I have enough wood to do another seven or maybe eight from this plank. The fingerboard moved a smidge on this - damn, I may just have to keep it myself. Also there is the slight haze that was mentioned in another thread. I actually the inlay, just not on the neck and the asymmetrical peg order, well it's novel, but probably not needed. What I really like is the color, that is a great guitar color because it is that honey golden brown that is elusive for most makers, including myself half the time. Good job. That Sycamore/Maple is one of the woods that warms up beautifully with a subtle touch of color. Again I like it.. Ahem, Anders about those orange guitars.....[;)] I really like the rosette of the upper one. What kind of funny mushrooms are you on to have picked that color? Thanks guys - I guessed you may not like the inlay Anders but thats cool. It's just what I'm into at the mo. I'm glad you like the Sycamore and the colour though. Steve, the colour you just have to play around with to get what you are after. A few tests etc When it goes on, it looks like it's doing nothing, but very gradually it bodies up. I'm hoping that in time it should darken a bit too. The off set pegs was something of a throw back from violas. Occasionally we used to swap the pegs on the G and C so the C was stretched over a longer distance. I just thought I'd try something the same and as it's a shorter scale than norm and why not. Life is once etc.[:D]

Deep orange, It looks correct with black clothes, semi long hair, some gold hanging around and a suffering look in your eyes.. The color on the photos are not really correct. The two negras should be the same. I thing is distortion from the lens. My guitars are normally around 9,5cm deepest point I sometimes set white balance before shooting or make raw photos of my guitars and adjust white balance in photoshop. I should have done so on the oranges, but its time consuming and I already use to much time in front of the computer....... I prefer to use my time playing the violin or the guitar. The white balance in the video screen shot is pretty correct...

i really dig the contrasting bindings on the negras. they should all be that way! especially like the EIR binding on the panama rosewood. brings out the grainlines in the wood. how does that one sound compared to the EIR negra?

They are pretty much the same. The Panama has a soundport and that always makes a guitar feel livelyer. Maybe the Panama is a tad faster and the Indian a little bit bigger (not bassy) sounding.

Nice work everyone! Anders, I really like that picture of the 2 negras. But it does look a little dirty for some reason. Like something you would see on a nature documentary of guitars mating in the wild [:D] Maybe it's because of the rear view. The contrast is really nice though. And your french polishes are looking great lately.
