turnermoran -> string tension and technique - what do you use? (Sep. 14 2012 17:13:17)

For all those years that Paco's face appeared on Luthier 20 strings, I never quite understood how someone with that much force in his playing (or so it sounds), could play on a string with such light tension.

What tension strings do you guys use? and more to the point:

Do you think flamenco guitar and techniques work well with certain tensions of strings?

I always assumed that the volume of picado for example, when paired with a flamenco guitar (lower action then classical, highly responsive), would 'pop' best with higher tension strings. And that low tension strings would sound too buzzy, or not have the volume.

by "low" I mean D'Addario EJ45, Luthier 20, Savarez Low Tension, etc

But obviously, a lot (most?) of the players here use these strings.

Jeez..maybe I'm just playing too hard.
