JBASHORUN -> GUITARRA DE FABRICA Vs. GUITARRA HECHO DE MANO (Sep. 16 2005 11:31:47)

Trying my hand at luthiery has made me think... which type of guitar is better made- one by machine/factory or one by hand? Obviously, those who can afford it may prefer handmade guitars out of preference, but surely there are some processes that a machine can do more accurately than a human.
I think the idea is to create a guitar that is well made and sounds good. I'm guessing that guitars made by machine are also well made, but can anyone tell the difference in sound between a good quality factory guitar and a handmade one?
As usual, any informed opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James
