Well, unfortunately this guitar didn't work out for me. It had problems with the frets coming up, the saddle not fitting properly, and most seriously the first 7 frets seemed to not be put in straight. They were at an angle, so the treble side played a bit sharp. That took a bit of time to figure out, at first all I knew was that it wasn't tuning up quite right. Close, but not quite right. Now I am pickier about my tuning being perfect than many people are, so this might not be as big of a problem for someone else as it was for me. Vincent (heavymellow) hadn't noticed the problem for example.
In the end the situation worked out alright though. When I took it to a luthier, he said basically that the fret problem would take a lot to fix, so I ended up returning it to Vincent for a refund.
I speculate that Carlos Pina might have sold this guitar at a discount because of this problem, and as it was passed around that info was not included. So for future reference of prospective buyers, as shown in the photos the label says this was Carlos Pina's flamenco model, number 111, made in 1999. The guitar does have a rather nice tone, so it might still be great for someone. The frets coming up and saddle problems might not be too hard to fix. I think Vincent said he played with a capo usually, and I suspect that might make the skewed frets less of a problem: if you tuned with the capo on, you could compensate for the problem while playing on the first 7 frets.
