Giacomo, I asked the funeral director about the Skype idea. He said it wouldn't be possible as there is a large chance that it would disconnect or lag, which would be a shame if someone was in the middle of saying their piece and got disconnected. Although its a brilliant idea and if only it were possible, a safer bet is to go with the video idea, less chance of something going wrong.

Also, so far with regards to playing some of my Dad's guitar pieces, Simon and I were thinking of playing the song my Dad wrote for his mum after she passed away and having everyone sit there and listen to it. I loved hearing him play in the house, I was always so impressed by his skills and I would often show my friends videos of him playing. It would be really nice for everyone to sit there and appreciate his skills and talent.

Thank you for making time to address me personally, AC and, no less, for figuring out my tongue-twisting name.

AC, this may sound a dash odd, yet I am sure I speak on behalf of many on the foro who are fond of your father in asking that you keep in touch, perhaps posting a few words on occasion. This is the one place where “Ron” will always be remembered most affectionately, and your presence will make us feel closer to him…. as your message just did for me.

Dearly,

Not at all, Giacomo! My Dad helped me a bit on that one I must admit aha, he mentioned you a lot.

Awh, of course I will! I was speaking to Simon about this the other night and he said the same thing. Although I'd already decided on my own terms - whether the foro wanted it or not - I was gonna keep in touch and check in with the forum occasionally. I know how much this site meant to him, and how much he adored everyone on the forum.

These past few weeks have been incredibly difficult, and the forum has definitely been one of the things keeping me going. Reading posts and conversing with my Dads friends has given me great comfort, and has made me feel that bit closer to him. Even during this tragic time, you have all managed to put a smile on my face, I'm confident my Dads send off is going to be the best it possibly can be and one he truly deserves. Thank you everyone for your kind words, your ideas, your donations, helping out with the funeral and for showing me first hand what an amazing community this is, I can certainly see why my Dad was so fond of this place and I will be sure to post on here every so often.

Florian, I have a few photos of my Dad which I will try and get scanned and uploaded tomorrow. I recall one time a few years ago my Dad and I were in the garden on a nice ass day and he got me to take a few snaps of him with his guitar. I wondered if he ever uploaded them as I haven't seen them around? They were really nice photos (although I'm pretty sure he thought he looked like a gonk in them, haha) and it would be nice if they were found!
