All wise and powerful builders of the guitar:
Does rain affect french polish and how so?
If a builder constructs instruments in a humidity controlled shop, why/how does rain affect the french polish process?

are you asking if one french polishes outdoors in the middle of a rain storm will it affect the finish? i would imagine so. or are you asking whether taking a previously french polished guitar out into the rain? a humidity controlled shop is just that--controlled. if it is raining outside but 50% in the shop then i would imagine it really does not matter whether or not it is raining

New guitar that needs to be french polished.
Not outside, but inside, in a humidity controlled shop.
Why would the aformentioned constraints affect the french polish process? Or they would not?

the whole point of a humidity controlled shop is that humidity changes etc wont be very noticable inside the shop. So it shouldn't matter if the shop is properly humidity controlled.

That's what I thought. Just wanted validation for my stupidity. Was told otherwise....
