BAFP -> 2012 Festival Flamenco Gitano USA this fall (Aug. 9 2012 6:17:37)

The 7th Annual Bay Area Flamenco Festival: Festival Flamenco Gitano USA will take place from September 24-30 featuring world-class artists from Spain, including exciting performances at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts featuring the West Coast premier of superstar Jose Mercé, the world premier of Fiesta Jerez: Gypsy Flamenco All-Stars including Juana la del Pipa, and the legendary Farruco Family featuring the anticipated U.S. premier of El Carpeta -14-year-old prodigy who will appear with clan matriarch, La Farruca. Opening night will feature a concert by Gypsy guitarist Diego del Morao at Yoshi’s Oakland. There will also be a series of dance workshops and guitar master classes, and for the first time this year, the Festival will present “Flamenco on Film,” at Landmark Embarcadero Cinema featuring the S.F. premier of Spanish director Carlos Saura’s latest production.
Festival Flamenco Gitano also goes to Los Angeles (Oct. 1-4) and NYC (Oct 5-7)
