Looks good, even with the mismatched top.. but I can only afford one tenth of it [8D]

I think that's quite common at Sanchis...

Sr. Martins -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 9 2012 12:17:40)

Sure, but looks bad and makes it seems like they dont even care to make the effort.

It's not a mismatched top. It's the way the light reflects off the grain at the center joint. A lot of guitars if not all, do this if you catch the light right. I bet even yours. Try it.

Sr. Martins -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 9 2012 14:03:45)

My spruce top guitar did that, not anymore since I striped the glassy polyurethane and gave it a thin coat of hardwax [:D]

Is that right? The ones I have played have been good guitars. From the video I would say that this one is no exception to that... A good guitar if you ask me. If I didn't have a blanca on order from John Shelton I would be glad to put a bid in on it. In my house I'm only aloud to buy one guitar at a time though... I guess these guitars are good enough for me, Pedro Sierra, Ricardo and many more, but they aren't good enough for some of you guys. That's okay too I guess... All in all it seems to me that Rumbaking is trying to sell a good instrument at a good price, and that sums it up....

C. Vega -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 9 2012 20:17:30)

Like Tom said, it's not a mismatched top. It's just grain runout that reflects light differently on either side of the joint and it is quite common, even on guitars that are considerably more expensive than this one.

Sr. Martins -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 9 2012 20:36:13)

Who said it isnt good enough? I would be more than happy to have a proper guitar like that one[:)]

beno -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 10 2012 5:56:19)

Hey, where did You read it's not good? I never wrote such thing!

Mine certainly NOT..... and neither my previous guitar, but the other Sanchis I played for 9-10 month had it too...though once again: I dont say it's a bad thing!

Don't worry, after the sh!t episode in your life is over, you will be stronger than before. I just experienced similar issues, had to leave my nice flat which i had just finished and had equipped with many nice things which i bought all new, etc.... then couldn't make any business anymore because of some political issues, so basically no more money from job...... then right after that, a weird sickness..... all came together.

But at the moment i feel better and stronger than ever before.... fewer things can bother me now, and i'm much more relaxed towards ups and downs of life.

Wish you the same attitude and best of luck.
Nearly all of us experience such things in their life.
Move on.

Nice video , I liked the Alegrias very much...I may even have a go at it one day .... but it looks like you are in your office ,, do you actually do any work there as well??

RTC -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 12 2012 4:22:27)

Rumbaking:
Best wishes to you and your family, hope things work out for you.
My dad use to tell me "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"

BarkellWH -> RE: 2011 Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1F (Aug. 12 2012 5:59:47)

Rumbaking,

Good luck in selling your guitar. Hope life smooths out for you and gets better than ever.

Your Alegrias, particularly playing it in a suit, is very cool. Sounds great, and you look sharp. It reminds me of flamencos back in the '60s. Look at some of the old YouTube videos of Paco Cepero, Camaron, Turanero, Sabicas, and a young Paco de Lucia. They all played and sang in suits, ties, wore shirts with French cuffs, the whole bit. I know that style of dress says nothing about ability to play, but it was pretty cool back then, and you carry on a fine tradition with your video.

Cheers,

Bill
