Gotta say I really like this piece of playing by KMM177 on youtube, guess
the Rondena tuning really pulls you in:

Nice playing indeed [:)]

Hi to everyone who remembers me (or not [:)]). Was on this forum about a year and a half ago, posting some videos. Maybe I'll come back in a few days with some new stuff [:)]

estebanana -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 3 2012 22:41:53)

KMMI77 -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 4:40:26)

Thanks guys,

I always feel a bit uneasy when i watch that video. I remember playing that idea and feeling annoyed about something. It's a bit heavy handed and i play the chord at 0:24 late. From there i just kept going trying not to derail the train. I still like the idea though.

Florian -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 7:08:10)

too modest amigo, its great, (i know its hard at times but take a sec and enjoy a compliment )[;)] love the way u play

but i can totally relate to finding it difficult to truly accept compliment this days...its getting harder and harder for me, and i know less and less what the appropriate response is..i wish i was innocent again and a beginner and didn't see what i have seen and heard what i have heard and know whats out there... to be able to truly enjoy the compliments like i used too...i used to be way prouder of myself when i was way lesser of a player lol

I once told a flamenco guitarist after a gig he was great...and he just stood there starring at me not knowing what to make of me...like if i was being sarcastic or something......i remember thinking to myself ...what a strange guy... but now i understand him perfectly [:D]

KMMI77 -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 7:25:02)

Thanks a lot mate!

Do you like the way i hung that blue curtain over the fridge to make the video look more pro[:D]

Florian -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 7:26:42)

omg that's a fridge ... i thought u were in some decked out studio with blue curtains [:)]

let me guess your fav colour is blue [;)]...dont ask me how i know...i am psychic

Kris: Sounds great! I like the melodic and the rhythmic aspects.

Florian: I've also seen that reaction on many occasions. Usually they seem to be measuring you, looking for a sign that your opinion might really mean something. Other times, a compliment seems to make them uncomfortable. They probably just have other things on their minds and don't feel like talking to anyone, but some seem to be uncomfortable with being happy to hear a nice comment. The best reaction was from Eduardo Rebollar, who just grinned and said, "Oh, yeah?" I don't know what he's like, but he took it in stride. Actually, now that I remember it, I ended up pointing out how the foot of his crossed leg would start to go in circles faster and faster with the rasgueado buildup in malagueƱas. Fortunately, he laughed, too.[:)]

fingerstyle -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 11:18:18)

WOW! Okay, so now I really can't wait to start getting into the basics of flamenco. I see now what some guys have been saying about the difference between this kind of playing and the more 'off-beat' pretenders.

That's great, KMM177, love it!

n85ae -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 18:55:31)

Some times there's just too much analysis going on, especially on the foro ...
Theory, etc, etc. trying intellectualize what makes guitar sound good ... It's
good, but a bit BS at the same time. Some times it boils down to - some
people simple can play the guitar, and that's the bottom line.

When I hear somebody just playing something like this, I just think - This is really great! I love the Rondena Buleria sound, very much like Gerardo
Nunez anyway when I saw it again on youtube, I thought I bet nobody
on the Foro has seen this, and he's sounding great! So I posted this
thread.

Another one I really love is ToddK playing Centrifugal Funk, not flamenco
but it's great too:

Jeff

vigrond -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 19:00:58)

beautiful playing

Stu -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 4 2012 20:18:22)

I really like it! sounds great!!

is it your own composition??

KMMI77 -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 5 2012 3:38:09)

Thanks Norman! Your approval means a lot.

Fingerstyle, Thank you man. I'm glad you like it.

n85ae, It's a really nice compliment to have someone start a thread of me playing something. So thank you for that.

I think that video was first posted on here about 3 years ago. It has come up every now and then. Like wise with the video of Todds very cool playing. I could listen to Todd playing that style for hours. I like it when notes, rhythm and technique come together to create a single entity. That's a big attraction for me.

Thanks vigrond!

Stu, thank you as well! Yes they were my own ideas. I had been listening to Gerardo's Jucal CD for a few years before I had the the idea though.

Elie -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 5 2012 6:29:23)

great playing Ole ! :)
the musicality in your playing is just wonderful [:)]

good and bs at the same time? So, is there a ratio like 50/50 or 70/30? Or is it just 100% good and 100% bs? Or does one side overpower the other?

n85ae -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 5 2012 15:20:53)

Depends on my mood. Today I think the ratio is 100/0 in favor of crap.

Regards,
Jeff

So, if its your mood then it hasnt really anything to do with what others do and say has it? (this thread is apporaching the 100/0 too btw)

srshea -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 5 2012 22:34:55)

Very nice. I like that sweet/dark moody melody.

n85ae -> RE: Great playing by KMM177 (Jul. 6 2012 4:04:31)

This is like talking to my wife, there's just nothing that can be said that doesn't
create another argument, or further confrontation. :)

:) I'm good, it's Friday, passing away boredom with the Internet. No problems
Deniz. Hope your weekend is a good one.

Jeff
