britguy -> "Recuerdos del Alhambra"? (Jun. 28 2012 13:57:34)

For more than twenty years I've wanted to learn to play this evocative Tarrega masterpiece, but have never been able to figure out the fingering from any of the TABS I have seen.

Do any of you classical players know of any instructional videos, simplified versions, etc. or anything else that may help to learn at least the main parts of this piece?

I know the melodies so well in my head, but can't figure out the fingering, particularly in the higher positions.

Any help much appreciated.

I have sheet-music of "Recuerdos" with fingering by Karl Scheit (very easy to understand even to who doesn't read music!) ;
I may send you the pdf file of it, via private mail, mine is : gbv1158@libero.it

I remember my friend learned it from Guitar Pro tabs. Sounded great when he playeed it. I'm pretty sure the whole thing uses arpeggios doesn't it?

Not arpeggios, TREMOLO. Except for a few notes at the end, it is all p,a,m,i over and over again (with a few trills done with the left hand). That's right hand thumb, ring finger, middle finger, index finger.

here is a good resource for classical guitar tabs--even has some flamenco including serveral paco pieces (under "L" for lucia)

I recorded a version of this recently for YouTube with some of my teacher Anatoly's modified fingerings. Perhaps it will help?

Thanks. Sounds interesting. Can I get a TAB of the modified fingering? I have a lot

Masakazu Ito has a good classical guitar instruction DVD on RDLA.
The key to mastery is smooth continuous right hand tremolo.
