You can buy it at all video-stores. I mean movies with Carlos in front of the camera are avalibel for all regions.
I saw a picture on flamenco-world of Carlos Saura. And I remembered a movie I saw in past. Yes!! Im shure Carlos acted as Freddy Krueger! Here is the proof! ^^

Hi Doitsujin,

Thanks for the reply. I know a few of his movies are available at Amazon UK but most of them don't seem to be. Perhaps I should look at some of the flamenco sites.

hi guys,

believe it or not, i found carlos saura's dvds at some pirated dvd stalls in china, really surprised when i see 'el amor brujo' and 'carmen' dvds are selling only at 5 yuan(=0.6usd = 0.5euro), and further more, thay are region 2 with full japanese subtitle! i don understand why they copy the flamenco dvds that nobody buys in china, and selling at a price that is even lower than buying a blank disc.
i also bought 'salomé' dvd from a chinese website, with copy right, only at 20 yuan(=2.4usd=2euro) including the shipment cost!

cheers,

i didn't mean to support the piracies, but who could resist the temptation? if i don't buy those 2 dvds they will probably end up in garbage bins.
art is priceless in the eyes of those who understand it, whatever form it is. hope carlos saura wouldn't blame me for my enthusiasm [8D]

I've recently found quite a few pirated flamenco guitar CDs in CD/DVD shops in Beijing - including PdL Cositas Buenas. But no Vicente Amigo so far unfortunately :(

It's not quite correct to say that nobody buys flamenco CDs or DVDs in China. Just check the site www.flamenco.idv.hk. The guy Raymond Au is a former student of Paco Pena in Cordoba and he organised workshops and concerts around Asia: Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. I think he also has a lot of contact with flamenco guitarists and enthusiasts in Japan.

I get an "Under Construction" message from the link you gave. Oh well, I will try later.

Thank you Peter.

Jamey -> RE: Carlos Saura DVDs (Sep. 4 2005 17:50:06)

The trick is to get an "all world" DVD player. There's no reason not to since they are so cheap and easily available. I have an Daiwa DVD player that plays DVDs, VCDs, CD-Rs with mp3 files, etc. etc. etc.

Buy the DVDs if they're a great find regardless of their region. That whole region thing is BS anyway. Just get a player that plays any region and you can snap up those great finds without worrying about it.

Sorry Tom, I'm not a computer guru. Instead of clicking on the link, just type www.flamenco.idv.hk. It should be OK. But you may need to have Asian Languages installed before you get something more comprehensible.
