Hi everyone,

I posted a little while ago about going to Spain to teach english, asking for opinions of cities in Spain that would be cool to live in.

Since then i've received word that i'll be posted in Linares - not exactly what i was expecting, but exciting all the same! Now from what i've found the scene there is alive and kicking, as i suppose is expected in most Andaluz towns. There's an annual Concurso de Cante which must be great and a few penas running i think. Obviously, one of my personal faves Carmen Linares also hails from there.

Can anyone provide more info on the town? I'd love to hear any stories or opinions or comments you may have.

gracias a todos!

Linares is also the birthplace of Andres Segovia and a museum dedicated to him as well as his tomb are located there.
