Here's a twelve year old kid playing. No flamenco yet, but he'll probably get around to it sooner or later. Check him out at 4:30 where he plays "La Cumparsita."

Damn, everytime I see one of these prodigies I can't help but feel like the Waco Kid (Gene Wilder) in Blazing Saddles: "I started to hear the word "draw" in my sleep. Then one day, I was just walking down the street when I heard a voice behind me say, "Reach for it, mister!" I spun around... and there I was, face to face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass. So I limped to the nearest saloon, crawled inside a whiskey bottle... and I've been there ever since. "

Yup the pretty much sum's up my 10 years of trying to play Flamenco guitar!!
Sig--
p.s. Wow that kid is good :))

When I see kids like this I just want the throw my guitar on the ground and walk away. At his age I was chasing girls not chords. Perhaps I chose wrong.

Here he plays some parts of Mediterrenean Sundance and Entre Dos Aguas :)

AWESOME and Inspirating to say the least.

Especially, that his kid is so young and can handle a classical guitar.

I am always complaining thinking I need a shorter scale and smaller body guitar, but, this kid makes me realize not TRUE...

Does anyone know if he's playing a full scale guitar. Looks like it to me...

AWESOME!!!

Looks like a full scale guitar to me. Here he is playing "Recuerdos de la Alhambra." Interestingly, he's using a flamenco four treble note tremolo.

I've been trying to find out what country he's from. Some parts of that "La Cumparsita"he plays sound like that great version by Juanjo Dominguez, so maybe he's from Argentina. I just wish someone would get him a decent guitar worthy of his talent.

Maybe he has humongous hands, but the video does not do their size justice. [8D][:D]

Nope, he's not. He's changing the bass part here and there to extend
the melody, but he's doing classical tremolo. 1 bass 3 treble

This guy can do it pretty well.

Todd –

Thanks for that video. Nice tremolo. I was recently discussing Recuerdos and I said I felt there was no reason why Recuerdos couldn't be played with a flamenco tremolo. I was just getting ready to look for a video of that, so thanks, you saved me the trouble.
