Here is a product of a few hours. Do you think it has any merit?

ah, needs more picado. And more soniquete....eat some spanish food. And it's a little too much techniques with no feeling...and it sounds too classical. But overall nice tangos.

Just kidding man, it's good stuff!!![:D][:D]
Especially like the little C# part with the open D string trill, nice.

When I spend my year studying economics in Germany I mostly practice for myself.
I hold a solid tecnical level but have the same feeling of lacking musical emotion that you describe. That's when I have to take some time off each year to visit the guys in spain and to play the music in the social environment where it belongs to.

As Riqueni said: you have to dive into the juergas. A bottle of whisky and your buddies...

Very beautiful falseta, Grisha!

I really like it :)

Best wishes for your hands, your mind and specially for YOU :)

I was going to reply to this thread earlier but everything I was going to say was said already. I think composing more and trying to play with other flamenco's might help you get out of your rut.

I think the clip you posted shows this quite well. Honestly, I think it's amazing man! [:)]

Either way, good luck Grisha.

grisha--i think the wise adage of making something "your own" is appropo here. you made that piece your own and from that piece a thousand other pieces can result. have fun--and have fun writing your dissertation. i can still recall way back in the day writing my master's thesis--it can be a royal pain so keep the guitar handy to vacation away from the keyboard.

I enjoyed the whole thing very much Grisha especially from :02 to :010. That was beautiful! Very nice use of that open G string.
